'WHAT WE LEFT BEHIND' is an immersive experience that uses binaural sound, 360 degree projection and physical theatre to explore the atmosphere at the top of the worlds highest mountain. A dream like terrain where climbers can suffer oxygen deprivation, snow blindness and sometimes complete delirium.
Inspired by the legacy of high altitude climbers and the stories and objects discovered on the slopes. 'What We Left Behind' also looks at the environmental impact of this incredible human endeavor.
INSPIRING ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION THROUGH THE ARTS
Everest or Chomolungma is a metaphor for hope. A big dream, that implies action.
That pushes you to make choices and sacrifices to reach the impossible.
Global warming is visible at the top of our highest mountains..
The ice is melting exposing traces of fallen climbers, forgotten objects and 30 tonnes of rubbish strewed on its slopes.
WHAT WE LEFT BEHIND creates theatre and immersive sound experiences that inspire audiences to take ownership of their role in the climate crisis. To look at what can seem impossible and feel empowered.
